Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of Newcastle’s residents?
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Community Reablement Service as a Health and Social Care Officer.
Health & Social Care Officers play a vital role in our service, supporting people in their own homes, to remain independent and improve their quality of life. We do this by working with the person, promoting independence, health, wellbeing, and choice to those who use our service.
It’s a great time to join our team as we continue to develop our service to act earlier, keep people at home and delay the need for formal care and support, and are looking to incorporate new digital capabilities to improve how we support people within Newcastle.
We pride ourselves on great outcomes for the people we support, and our team has massive job satisfaction.
You do not require specific experience or professional qualifications; what you really need is a caring approach, patience, and commitment to making a real difference to people’s lives. Once you join our team, we support you through a 3-month comprehensive induction and training program, learning all aspects of the role alongside our experienced colleagues.
Being able to work shifts, weekends, and split shifts on a rota basis is essential. You can find more information on the shift pattern within the ‘Supporting Documents’.
We can’t wait to hear from you, and if you would like more information, please contact Andrea Marshall at andrea.marshall@newcastle.gov.uk.
Benefits:
1. Regular supervision, training, generous annual leave in addition to Bank Holidays with the ability to buy additional leave.
2. Access to the Health Assured app, mindfulness sessions, and other wellbeing initiatives.
3. A generous, defined pension scheme.
4. Benefit schemes such as vehicle leasing, bike to work, home electronics, and annual travel passes.
We are committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is working in regulated activity. If you are successful, we will undertake additional recruitment checks which will include a check to see if you have had any criminal convictions, a check of police information, and we will check the barred list(s). It is a criminal offence for a barred individual to apply for a job in regulated activity.
