Peterborough Culture Forum is commissioning 3 artists, creatives or activists connected to Peterborough or Cambridgeshire to host Culture Forum sessions between May 2025 – March 2026.
These commissions are an opportunity to develop your facilitation skills, build your network, and strengthen your leadership portfolio.
What we are looking for:
* Peterborough or Cambridgeshire linked creatives or activists (who live and/or work in the area) who are either new to leadership, or can evidence that this is a timely opportunity to develop their skills and profile as a leader.
* Candidates who can demonstrate an interest in supporting the needs of other cultural practitioners, and are curious about facilitating interesting conversations and opportunities which will create change for others.
* We are keen to hear from candidates who reflect sections of the community who are under-represented in the leadership of the cultural sector, i.e. young people (i.e. age 18 - 25), Global Majority and migrant populations, people who identify as Deaf, disabled or neurodivergent, and those who have lived experience of socio-economic disadvantage.
You will:
* Attend the training session in late April 2025, and reflect on applying the learning.
* Work with Jumped Up Theatre and the Peterborough Cultural Alliance (PCA) to plan and deliver your sessions.
* Deliver 3 sessions (per commission).
* Attend at least one other Peterborough Culture Forum session.
* Connect with the commissioning partners (Jumped Up and the PCA) and other hosts; sharing contacts, support and reflections.
* Advocate to others in your networks to participate in the Peterborough Culture Forum and in other opportunities provided by the PCA.
We will provide you with:
* Training in facilitation skills from an external provider (value approximately £450).
* Support in planning and delivering your sessions.
* A budget for catering, consumables, venue hire, and external speakers/trainers.
* A total delivery fee of £850 per commission. There are no travel expenses as you are expected to be local.
* An access budget, if required.
Peterborough Culture Forum:
The Peterborough Culture Forum is a free-to-access project set up by Jumped Up Theatre with support from Arts Council England and the Peterborough Cultural Alliance.
What started in April 2020 as an online catch-up for Peterborough’s arts network has since grown into a city-wide open group for artists, arts organisations, community groups, and individuals who are interested in the arts.
The monthly Culture Forum sessions are a mix of:
* In-person sessions (such as at Peterborough Museum) or online.
* Free flow networking sessions, socials, training and professional development, or themed around a hot topic or shared concern/challenge.
* Lunch-time and evening sessions.
* People – anyone who identifies as an artist or creative, leading or working for an arts, heritage or cultural organisation or community group, as a community leader, or as an advocate for arts, heritage or culture, are welcome to attend.
How to Apply:
Please submit a CV and an Expression of Interest by Monday 10 March.
* The Expression of Interest can be in the form of a document (2 A4 pages maximum) or a video (5 minutes max. Zoom quality).
* The Expression of Interest should outline why you are interested in the commission, your skills and experience that are relevant to the opportunity, and what you would like to get out of the opportunity.
* There will be an information session from 1:00pm - 2:00pm on Tuesday 18 February; please contact us to sign up, or for any other queries.
