We are an award-winning engineering consultancy based close to Nottingham train station in Nottingham. We’ve grown from one to 29 staff since our establishment in 2013 and have ambitions to grow further. As our team grows, so has the importance in ensuring that our HR function develops to meet this growth; after all, the team are our most important asset!
We need an extra pair of hands to join us, with the objective of enhancing our HR function and providing support within other functions of our service.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Services, you will be flexible and a great communicator. You will deal with transactional elements of the employee life cycle including recruitment, administration, changes to T&C’s, assist with ER issues, and update and enhance our policies and procedures to meet the needs of the business and any new legislation.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in a similar supporting role, confident in their ability to drive our HR forward, have meticulous attention to detail, and be willing to help out with other tasks that the service looks after. We are interested in hearing from candidates with 3 years of experience upwards as the exact role, amount of hours, and level of experience sought is currently fluid and can be tailored for the right person.
The main duties are:
1. Be responsible and involved with all aspects of the HR process.
2. Maintain our Staff Handbook.
3. Update Policies and Procedures as required.
4. Manage absences, staff holidays, and sickness.
5. Maintain employee files.
6. Have a good working knowledge of ER and employment legislation.
7. Communicate effectively and confidently at all levels, over the phone, face to face, and by email.
8. Support the recruitment process on various aspects of the cycle.
9. Support and advise the team with any HR matters which may arise.
10. Provide support with performance management.
The candidate must have:
1. Experience of working in a similar capacity.
2. CIPD 3 or equivalent HR experience.
3. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
4. A keen eye for detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
5. Willingness to assist with other Corporate Services tasks which could include office management, administration, finance, HR, health & safety, marketing, IT, and project management.
Full time (37.5 hours) but part time could be considered.
Salary is negotiable depending upon hours and experience.
