Job Overview
The People Change Advisor will join a newly won contract supporting a utilities service engineering project for TVS Supply Chain Solutions. Operating from two existing distribution centres in Leicester and Coventry, there is a transformation project to move the existing operations and merge them into new purpose built state of the art facilities in Lutterworth.
The role of the People Chage Advisor is to join an existing HR function, supported by a wider central services HR team. Primary elements of the role include supporting collective consultations with trade unions and delivery of the people plan in place to support the transformation. In addition to the people change aspects there will be requirement to assist managers by providing advice and support to achieve business objectives and making sure best practice with regards to HR policies and processes.
Job Responsibilities
* Work in Partnership with the Head of HR to create people plans to support the transformation activity, including, communications and engagement plans, and people change and consultations
* Support with employee relations issues, TUPE, training, restructures and any other HR issues as required
* Ensure that people change packs and consultation material is up to date and maintained, including people tracker and role matching data
* Work in partnership with Line Managers and Talent Acquisition team during recruitment and induction phases offering advice on individual performance management issues ensuring alignment with wider TVS approach and ensuring and local training is consistent
* Ensure effective monitoring of sickness trends and remedial action in accordance with policy and to facilitate a proactive approach to absence management to ensure a smooth return to work
* Establish a working relationship with the Trade Union and Employee Representatives through joint working groups and formal consultation process
* Support the Head of HR with any re-structuring or organisational changes aligned to the transformation
* Ensure that all communications including Q&As are timely and have positive language and consistent narrative. Support in the creation of comms packs
* Deliver pulse surveys and support in the creation of action plans
* Monitor appraisals and objectives received and follow up with Line Managers
* Work in partnership with HR shared service to deploy business wide initiatives, training, policy reviews and ER case load, being the point of contact for more complex case load
* Promote the Employee Benefits Programme including private healthcare, GIP, GLA, Health Awareness and Holiday Buy Back
Qualifications and Skills
* CIPD qualified or equivalent experience with a good understanding of current Employment Law
* Generalist HR exposure in an operational context
* Previous experience of managing employee relations in a Unionised environment with existing collective agreements
* Previous experience of transitioning of a cohort of people through or post TUPE transfer would be an advantage but is not essential.
* Previous experience of handling redundancy situations, applying methodology of suitableness and reasonableness.
* People change management such as relocations
* High level of IT competency in Microsoft Office
* Proven problem solving mindset and attitude
* Commercial awareness
* Proven effective communication skills at all levels
* Excellent organisational/administration skills
