First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic International Defence business who are looking to recruit multiple Welding Trainers on a permanent basis due to growth based at their Lyneham depot.
The Welder Trainer position isn’t an ordinary Trainer position. This position will provide an opportunity to work on some fantastic military vehicles and enhance your mechanical knowledge on the wider spectrum in addition to offering exceptional career advancement opportunities.
This opportunity would also support you gaining a teaching qualification!
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Train a class of circa 10 welding trainees
2. Carry out work to the required standard and specification as detailed on the job card in accordance with the customer requirements, current regulations, local instructions, processes and other approved technical publications.
3. Perform weld tasks to the defined standards in line with skills & competency.
4. Ensure all job transactions are accurately recorded and carried out in accordance with current ERP processes and that work completed and time taken to complete the job is submitted daily to the department / section Supervisor.
5. Completion of task / recording sheers / reports to current standards.
6. Ensure stores and equipment issued to job are used for their correct purpose and un-used or new faulty material is returned to the section / department Supervisor as soon as it is identified.
7. Maintain the requirements of COSHH, Health & Safety and other statutory regulations. Ensure a good standard of housekeeping, cleanliness and safety in the work area is maintained at all times.
8. Comply with local policy on the correct disposal of hazardous or waste products.
9. Inform the Supervisor of any issues which directly affect the repair process and any additional work to the task which is not detailed on the job card is deemed necessary to complete the task.
10. Consult Supervisor regarding any problems affecting Quality or Health & Safety.
11. Provide support across internal trade boundaries and Mobile Support Teams (MST) on a voluntary basis.
12. Execute other duties commensurate with grade and post on occasional basis as detailed by his / her Line Management chain.
Skills and Qualifications:
13. Educated to Level 3 in Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) / National
14. Vocational Qualification (NVQ) as a minimum (Advanced Apprenticeship, Level 3 VRQ/NVQ)
15. REME Approved Welder (Ferrous metals)
16. Holds BS 9606 Qualification
17. Holds valid and appropriate UK driving licence
18. Holds valid UK driving licence with Categories C, C+E and H
19. Has equipment specific training and experience
20. Competent PC user (MS Office, MS Outlook, SharePoint, ERP system)

Salary: £37,250
Working Hours: 07:30am – 16:30pm Mon to Fri (early finish on a Wednesday) – 37 hours per week
