Job Title: Graphic Production Designer (in the Exhibition Stand Design sector)

Role
Due to continued growth and an increasing number of clients and projects we are now seeking an experienced and highly organised Graphic Production Designer to manage the production trafficking (via external suppliers) of graphic panels for exhibition stands and events. Management of client artwork and design when required. Liaise and communicate with internal Account Managers, Production Teams, Customers, and their Agencies.
This role will be the lead in a team of 2 and requires the ability to communicate and collaborate with remote resources.
Duties
1. Production
o Production Management and trafficking of all types of large format graphics and miscellaneous display items to agreed deadlines, from artwork through to checking of finished items.
o Client Liaison (internal and external), covering incoming enquiries, technical specification, advice and scheduling, through to approval sign off, production and delivery.
o Selection and management of graphic suppliers and subcontractors.
o Ability to achieve graphic production budgets.
o Management of internal design equipment and materials.
2. Design
o Layout and Setting of artwork, in preparation for transfer to external production suppliers.
o Design of large format graphic panels, lettering and exhibition props.
o Management of design workflow in conjunction with home based Graphic Designer.
o Internal creative meetings to develop ideas and concepts for exhibition stands and events.
3. Other Duties
o Occasional off-site installation of graphics at exhibitions/events.
o Attending client meetings, presenting and giving input and guidance on creative ideas.
o Contribution to the research and development of new ideas for efficiency and development.
o Operating the Apex Quality Management Systems and processes relevant to the role.
o Design & Development of Apex marketing ideas and materials.
o Ordering of design materials.
o Other relevant duties as directed by the Directors.
Required Skills
* Apple Mac/PC software skills to include Creative Cloud Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro).
* A good communicator, with excellent customer relation skills.
* You will have a good knowledge of materials, colour balance, typography and CMYK printing.
* Ability to negotiate contracts with suppliers.
* Maturity to deal with clients up to Director level and partake in meetings if required, with the appropriate verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications
* A graphic design qualification to degree level, or equivalent experience, is essential.
* A good all-round education, with A-C GCSE grades in English and Maths.
* Experience of large format graphic design, preferably within the Event/Exhibition industry.
* An understanding of 3D CAD design would be a distinct advantage.
