Our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organisation partners with a range of global customers, working closely with major airlines such as British Airways, easyJet, Wizz Air, Iberia, Vueling, Air Canada, Etihad and Qatar.
What will I be doing?
As a Machinist, your role will be to set up and operate various machine tools to produce and repair aircraft parts to a high standard/tolerance, machining parts to various aerospace specifications.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
1. Cylindrical Grinding, Planetary Grinding, Vertical Boring, Horizontal Boring, Turning and Honing
2. Set up and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and precision components onto machine beds plus adjust and operate specialist machine tools in order to perform precision machining operations
3. Monitor and adjust feed and speeds during the machining process to ensure efficiency of both the machine and speed of process
4. Use a wide and varied range of precision measuring equipment
5. Read component maintenance manuals, complex drawings, and engineering layout information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to complete repairs of parts within specified dimensions and tolerances
6. Diagnose machine or tool malfunctions and determine need for adjustment or repairs
In this role, you will be working shifts consisting of earlies, lates, and nights on a rotating basis.

Job Requirements
1. An Engineering Apprenticeship ideally gained in the aerospace or manufacturing sector
2. Excellent communication skills
3. Good computer skills
4. Good mathematical skills
5. Team working ethics
6. Self-managing and reliant
7. Good problem-solving skills
8. Flexibility
9. Must be willing to train and take on board new skills
10. An understanding of Lean Sigma disciplines and 5s principles
11. Involvement in continuous improvement activities to reduce shop processing times and manufacturing hours
