We are seeking a motivated and forward-thinking rehabilitation therapist (Occupational Therapist/ Physiotherapist) to work within our Critical Care Physiotherapy Team and Critical Care Rehabilitation & Follow-Up Service (CCRFS). The role is split equally between these two teams. This is a dynamic role with lots of opportunity for service development within critical care and follow-up. It is a 5-month full-time contract with a possibility of extension. We are also willing to be flexible about the working pattern & could consider a part-time position over a longer time frame.
Under the guidance of the CCRFS Service Lead, OT & Physio Team Lead you will have the opportunity to develop both clinically and managerially within a friendly and supportive environment.
This exciting opportunity provides a role in which your time is protected to be able to focus on acute management, rehabilitation and quality of life interventions. There is a strong emphasis on holistic therapy & interventions to improve quality of life & well-being for our patients.
• As a senior clinician you will be involved in the supervision&education ofsupport staff andstudents,and you will have the opportunity to lead and be involved inappropriate servicedevelopment. We are lucky to boast excellent CPD opportunities to develop these skills.
• Provide early assessment and rehabilitation for patients on the ICU and continue throughout their stay inhospital;promoting holistic client centred care
The post holder will:
• Be responsible foridentifyingearly functional goals for patients in the ICU
• Support the MDT in ensuring the rehabilitation pathways, patient diaries, and objective assessments are completed and up to date .
• Supporting with smooth transition for step down by promoting continuation of functional goals and co-ordinating with ward staff to provide detailed handovers.
• Acting as a key worker andprovidingsupport to patient and relatives .
• Within the CCRFS, review patients on a comprehensive pathway discharged from critical care within 72 hours
• Active role in service development, especially around promoting best practice delirium management strategies, space for innovative ideas around patient pathways and data collection.
• Closeworking within an interdisciplinary team, to ensure true holistic, client centred practice.
