Our Oil & Gas Operator client are recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor to supporting decommissioning activities. The role will provide day to day support to Ops & Maintenance H&S teams; as well as monitor compliance with processes & procedures.

Key Responsibilities and background:
Support Decommissioning Team with the provision of practical and professional H&S advice and the development and execution of an annual HSE plan.
* Support the Operations Manager to define and execute an overall H&S strategy which achieves legislative compliance and ensure that all related initiatives are communicated and delivered in a collaborative manner.
* Ensure implementation of H&S policies and procedures in line with legislation, guidance and industry best practice.
* Ensure that H&S policies, procedures and standards are communicated and understood, and monitor their effectiveness in supporting the project objectives.
* Assist the HSE Team with site/offshore inspections to ensure adherence with rules and legislation and conduct internal and external Health, Safety and Environmental audits in line with auditing and internal standards, identifying any potential hazards or risks and required corrective actions. Inspections will be led by the Duty Holder.
* Build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation and provide practical and professional H&S guidance and advisory support to all.
* Lead accident/incident investigations, where applicable, and collate all required information to ensure risks and impacts are identified which enable corrective actions and improvements to be made.
* Analyse accident/incident causes, review and co-ordinate lessons learned with the wider organisation.
* Assist with the development, monitoring and reporting of KPI’s and targets in line with Asset requirements.
* Liaise with asset in development of risk assessments and work packs in line with legislation and compliance standards.
* Liaise with asset in development and monitoring of the HSEA Continual Improvement Plan.
* Co-ordinate, prepare and participate in the Regulator Inspection Programme. Deliver Health & Safety Awareness training based on emerging need or improvement opportunities.
* Drive effective safety behaviours and continuous improvement initiatives to develop a culture where everyone is acting safely and being environmentally responsible.
* Monitor HSEA performance and identify any reoccurring trends. Communicate performance with the Asset and project team.
* Assist in HSE & Regulatory Lead in regulatory reporting of Incidents (ROGI, PON, non-compliance,).
Critical Skills & Personal Attributes:
* Proven experience of working in a lead HSE role within the Energy Industry
* Excellent analytical and reporting skills
* Ability to lead, influence and coach others
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships
* Demonstratable skills in adapting to change and leading change processes and promoting behaviours that meet the organisation’s Aims and Values
* Formal qualification at a minimum of HND level in a relevant. Engineering, Business or Environmental discipline or relevant offshore experience
* Recognised HSE Qualification (NEBOSH general certificate or diploma) essential
* Environmental qualification advantageous
* Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 requirements and auditing standards
* Knowledge of UK HSE regulatory framework, including specific legislation applicable to the Duty Holder activities in the Energy sector desirable
* Valid OGUK Medical, MIST and BOSIET essential
