CONVEYANCING - EXECUTIVE

Job title: Conveyancing Executive
Reporting to: PGOM and Head of Department
Job purpose: Manage a full caseload of:
CONVEYANCING
* Mainly domestic conveyancing of freehold and leasehold properties including sales and purchase, re-mortgages. Predominantly this work will incorporate the process up to completion.
Carry out work on other team members’ cases as required.
The job holder will be expected to conduct and manage all aspects of his/her caseload, including taking appropriate decisions involving the exercise of judgment, subject to supervision.
The level of supervision required will be in accordance with the agreed conveyancing system together with further assistance in relation to key decisions on cases.
The job holder will require a sound theoretical knowledge of the work and an ability to conduct cases from beginning to end.
The job holder will play an important role in the team in helping to achieve the team’s objectives.
The ability to communicate clearly and effectively is essential.
This job is self-sufficient. The job holder will produce all his/her own work on the PC and will have little if any assistance from administrative and secretarial staff. Proficiency in using the equipment provided and operating the firms systems to a high standard is required

Educational attainment
Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, Cilex or equivalent
Law Degree or equivalent
Knowledge required
Sound theoretical knowledge of conveyancing processes and procedures from start to end of a transaction

Experience required
Experience in dealing with:
* members of the public
* brokers/introducers, developing strong links and growing business income streams
* dealing with domestic conveyancing transactions, freehold and leasehold properties, including sales, purchase & remortgage from beginning to end
* working with Microsoft packages and case management systems
Experience of working with Case Management Systems, in particular Proclaim
