We are looking for a skilled writer who is ready to start their career within our professional Pre-Contract department as a Trainee Bid Writer. This role will see you being responsible for preparing compelling and compliant written responses for tender submissions, using knowledge supplied by subject matter experts. You will also contribute to the departments knowledge management systems. Our Pre-Contract department is key to the ongoing success of the company. Therefore, we will actively support your personal development, including to achieve certification with the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP). Main Responsibilities Working alongside Bid Managers to agree bid milestones and submission dates for work packages relevant to the response. Support the Bid Manager in management of writing workshops and answer planning. Timely population of standard company information into tender responses (on-line or in print). Work with subject matter experts to develop and refine compliant, responsive and compelling written responses. Assist in the maintenance of a library of bid information, track record, CVs etc. Update CVs and track record project sheets, by interviewing members of staff and otherwise gathering information, to ensure an accurate and consistent library of information. Assist in development and delivery of ad-hoc tasks such as the creation of presentations, graphics and marketing material. Work in accordance with company brand guidelines. Abide by all business compliance requirements in line with Company policies. Skills and experience required Educated to degree level or equivalent Excellent standard of written English with an ability to articulate messages clearly and concisely Demonstrable research skills No specific experience is required, but applicants will need to demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to learn Accuracy and attention to detail Good research skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint Able to plan own workload and work to deadline Desirable Degree in English, Law, Journalism or similar Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign Knowledge of impactful writing techniques Knowledge of proof-reading skills What we can offer you Our people are our greatest asset, which is why we offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support you to achieve your full potential.
