Morgan Hunt recruitment is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Finance Controller on behalf of a leading manufacturing business based in Scotland. This business is a renowned manufacturer of vehicles, known for its innovative designs, exceptional quality, and commitment to sustainability. With a rich history and a strong presence in the global market, they are constantly pushing the boundaries of engineering excellence.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Operations Financial Controller to join their finance team. This critical role will be responsible for providing financial control and support to all manufacturing operations across our three sites – two based in Scotland and one in England. The role will travel to the site in the North of England approximately once per month.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts for all manufacturing sites, including variance analysis, key performance indicators (KPIs), and cost control reports.
* Analyse manufacturing costs, identify trends, and provide insights to support operational decision-making.
* Prepare budgets and forecasts for manufacturing operations, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
* Financial Control & Risk Management:
* Implement and maintain robust financial controls across all manufacturing sites, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
* Oversee inventory management processes, including cycle counts and stock reconciliations.
* Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with manufacturing operations.
* Business Partnering:
* Build strong relationships with operational leaders at each site, providing financial guidance and support.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., procurement, production planning) to optimise manufacturing costs and improve efficiency.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing finance function.
* Project Support:
* Provide financial support to capital expenditure projects and other strategic initiatives within manufacturing.
* Analyse the financial feasibility of new products and manufacturing processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong track record in industry.
* Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within the automotive or vehicle sector (although this is not a compulsory requirement).
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
* A proactive and results-oriented approach with a strong work ethic.
