This is a key role working across Tesco's Customer and Product teams to manage legal and regulatory risk in an exciting and fast paced environment. You will be the key legal business partner for our Customer team, advising them on marketing and IP, and you will work on a broad range of legal matters in support of our Food, Grocery, Clothing and Home (General Merchandise) businesses, influencing key colleagues and providing commercial and legally robust solutions. Your role is to balance legal risk and commercial benefit, to provide timely and clear legal advice that is solutions driven. The role involves a good breadth of work as well as the opportunity to work autonomously. Building positive relationships with colleagues, acting as a trusted business partner and legal adviser to them. Strategically advising on IP protection for a variety of brand projects Advising on and managing a broad range of IP disputes (hard and soft IP) across our diverse business, from registry and domain name proceedings to court litigation. Drafting and negotiating IP aspects of commercial contracts. Owning the relationship with our external trade mark advisors who support on portfolio and more complex dispute work. Advising on all aspects of Tesco marketing campaigns and key customer propositions, from conception to execution, including our Personalisation program and compliance with consumer protection rules and regulations Drafting and managing ASA complaints to and from competitors and customers Advising our Clubcard team on its market leading loyalty scheme and commercial relationships with its external partners. Supporting on the legal aspects of relationships with charities and community groups. Considering concerns and spotting other issues: working with the business, not just for them and making valuable contributions. Delivering IP and Marketing training across the business. Supporting the development of precedent agreements and efficient processes and protocols. Qualified lawyer with a mix of experience across IP portfolio management and dispute matters (both soft and hard IP) Ideally marketing and consumer protection law experience, including working with the ASA and/or Trading Standards Ability to make complex issues simple, see the big picture and be efficient under pressure as there is a large and varied workload Good communication skills, a commercial and pragmatic approach and the ability to interact effectively across all parts of the business and at all levels LI-AG1 LI-Hybrid
