We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to design, analyse and manufacture a representative bladed disk or blisk with Under Platform Damper slots, and commission it on an existing test bed. This post is funded by ATI to work on the collaborative HOTLINE project involving Rolls-Royce plc and other university research groups.
You will be carrying out research programmes in experimental vibration, undertake project management and supervise multi-disciplinary teams. You will be expected to submit publications to refereed journals and to attract external research funding.
1. You must hold a first degree (Research Assistant) or PhD degree (Research Associate) in an area pertinent to the research subject.
2. Practical experience in a broad range of techniques including CAD design, FE analysis and experimental techniques is essential.
3. You must have practical experience within a research environment, publishing in relevant and refereed journals.
4. Knowledge of test bed design and high cycle fatigue analysis is essential.
5. Experience of dealing with research sponsors and engineers in industry is desirable.
