Curtis Law Solicitors is growing, and we’re looking for a driven and dedicated Paralegal to join our specialist Industrial Disease team, with a focus on Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) claims — including those involving the Ministry of Defence.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic legal team making a real difference to the lives of individuals impacted by workplace illness and injury. If you have prior experience in NIHL matters and a passion for justice, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Managing your own caseload of NIHL and industrial disease claims from initial instruction through to settlement or trial.
2. Conducting initial assessments, taking detailed witness statements, and securing expert medical evidence.
3. Drafting legal documentation including letters of claim, schedules of loss, and court documents.
4. Liaising with clients, medical professionals, barristers, insurers, and defendant solicitors.
5. Ensuring procedural compliance with CPR and pre-action protocols.
6. Staying up to date with the latest developments in industrial disease litigation.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Solid experience working on Noise Induced Hearing Loss claims.
2. In-depth knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and The Limitation Act 1980.
3. Excellent client care skills – empathetic, professional, and confident.
4. Strong drafting, legal research, and organisational abilities.
5. Self-sufficient with the ability to manage a busy caseload independently.
6. Proficient in case management systems.
Nice to Have:
1. Experience with asbestos exposure, HAVs, or respiratory illness claims.
2. Familiarity with medical causation and interpreting expert witness reports.
