Description Looe Primary Academy is looking for an experienced Nursery Teaching Assistant with a requirement of Level 2 (required) and Level 3 (desirable) early years qualification, to work in our small but thriving nursery provision. The post is offered as fixed term position to the end of half term in the Summer Term, to cover maternity leave, but may extend. We are a friendly and professional team, with the nursery as a valued part of our provision. The nursery caters for children from the age of 2 – 4 years of age and enjoys a dedicated safe and well-resourced environment that enables children to flourish and to learn. The setting has its own room and outdoor space and the children have the opportunity to explore our extensive grounds and outdoor spaces on a regular basis. Some of the skills required include: • The ability to work both as a part of a small nursery team but also the wider staff group • A warm, smiley nurturing approach that children will enjoy and which will enable them to feel special in your care • A resilient approach where nothing phases you – you will change nappies, be an endless number of characters to play with throughout the day, need to laugh at things such as jokes that the children tell you, even if you do not understand, not be phased by some of the actions that the children will display and an ability to deal with almost anything that a day can throw at you • A strong desire to enable children to flourish, learn and grow in every action they take when they are in the nursery • Enthusiasm, energy and a professional approach to all that you do and a willingness to engage in all aspects of school life. Ideally, the successful candidate will also have experience of working with children who may need behaviour support and or social, emotional and mental health need, or willingness to train in this area. The post also includes lunchtime supervision each day. In return, Looe Primary offers a friendly, experienced and supportive team, who work well together and put the education and welfare of the pupils at the heart of all we do. You can expect to receive high quality support and training in a school that has a good reputation in the community and in a setting that provides wonderful sea views in a great community. Our work to engage with the community is a high priority as we continue to improve our already successful school. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to this work. Closing Date: 23/02/25 Interview Date: 28/02/25 Start Date: asap We are committed to safeguarding children and the successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and will be assessed against the Childcare Disqualification Regulations.
