Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to work for the MFT CAMHS directorate as a CAMHS Inpatient Advanced Occupational Therapist (Clinical Lead) within Galaxy House. The Advanced OT will be the clinical lead for a highly specialised occupational therapy service for patients within a specialist field. They will function as an autonomous practitioner with an advanced level of knowledge, skills and experience, to assess, diagnose and treat complex patients of their own caseload of inpatients and/or outpatients/community patients in individual and group settings. The post holder will manage and provide clinical leadership for specialist qualified occupational therapists and assistants, and will supervise students. They will plan, deliver and evaluate Continual Professional Development, clinical audit, research activities and in-service training within the specialist area.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of their professional and clinical work, working to agreed national and professional standards.
2. Undertake comprehensive assessments of patients, including those with diverse or complex presentations/multi-pathologies using diagnostic and analytical skills to identify their problems and needs, ensuring that medical, psychological, social, environmental and cultural factors are considered.
3. Formulate individualised management and treatment plans in negotiation with patients to devise and deliver a specialised evidence-based programme of care utilising a range of treatment options.
4. Provide clinical expertise within the team and offer advice to other organisations as required.
5. Communicate effectively with patients who may have difficulties, using diverse communication strategies.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Recognised BSC Honours degree in occupational therapy or equivalent
* State registration via Health and Care Professions Council
* Completion of validated/nationally recognised post graduate specialist/advanced level courses or equivalent
* Evidence of relevant post-graduate training
* MSc in relevant field
Knowledge
* Minimum of 7 years post-registration clinical experience with 5 years working at a senior level in a relevant specialist field
* Advanced knowledge of occupational therapy assessment and treatment techniques
* Experience of supervision of qualified staff, students, and assistants
You must have appropriate UK professional registration. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and will require a Disclosure submission to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
