Permanent, part time 18.5 hours per week, 2.5 days per week Band 2 - £25,148 to £27,344 per annum, pro rata About the Post Budgeting and Financial Management: The role involves managing day-to-day financial tasks, including budgeting, financial reporting, and supporting costing and management accounting functions. Financial Reporting: The candidate will use the University’s financial and reporting systems (Open Accounts and Qlik) to prepare and analyze financial reports on income, expenditures, and commitments. Support and Advice: Providing financial advice to Principal Investigators (PIs) and budget holders, including monitoring income, chasing payments, and resolving financial queries. Cross-team Collaboration: The role requires liaising with administrators and finance team members across the University to resolve queries and assist with month-end and year-end financial processes. Project Budgeting: Setting up and maintaining project budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal costings and financial regulations. Process Improvement: Contributing to the review and improvement of financial processes and maintaining accurate financial records for audit purposes. About You Attention to Detail and Accuracy: Working with financial reconciliations, ensuring precision in coding, journal entries, and compliance with financial regulations. Organisational and Time Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple financial tasks, meet deadlines, and handle conflicting priorities professionally. Problem-Solving and Initiative: Ability to address financial anomalies, propose process improvements, and work independently to resolve issues while seeking advice and support when necessary.
