The fellowship is designed to allow the development of advanced skills in managing complex IBD / nutrition with the appropriate support. The program offers a balance of clinical practice (6 sessions/week) and academic activities (4 sessions/week). The fellow will receive tertiary-level training in all aspects of complex IBD and IBD endoscopy, with participation in specialist IBD clinics: young adult, pregnancy and adult. There will be 2 general clinics and 2 general endoscopy lists per week. As with all senior fellows and consultants in the Royal London Hospital, one of the endoscopy sessions is flexible and may need to be worked on a Saturday. The academic sessions are dedicated to research, (including a personal project), clinical trials teaching, and administration. Active participation in at least one research and one audit project is expected. The Fellow will also have the opportunity to attend MDTs with radiology and surgery. The post holder will participate in the Out-of-hours consultant bleed rota. Please refer to the job description and person specification for the main responsibilities of this role.
