Deputy Manager - £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (Salaries vary depending on experiences)
Hours – 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 24 Hour Service – Must have flexibility should the Service require additional support.
Service – Papist Way, Wallingford.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Papist Way is home to 10 residents with acute mental health needs, working alongside the Adult Mental Health Team. Our roles offer employees variety where every day is different whilst also giving a great sense of pride seeing the positive impact you can have on others.
Response is looking for a motivated, organised individual to join the team at Papist Way as a Deputy Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the service, ensuring the team provide bespoke packages of support tailored to the needs of the individuals we support. Ensure KPI’s are met and that audits completed on the service are successful whilst demonstrating the service is operating efficiently and legally. Provide management to the team and encourage them to perform at their highest level achievable.

1. Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the service.
2. Ensure all needs are met for residents according to their support plans, promoting dignity, choice, and independence.
3. Identify opportunities for improvement in service delivery and implement changes.
4. Act as a point of escalation for complex needs, providing support and guidance to support workers when required.
5. Have oversight of referrals into the service to ensure voids are being proactively managed.
6. Lead, supervise, and support a team of support workers, including setting objectives and providing learning and development opportunities.
7. Create and manage rotas to ensure adequate coverage that meets the needs of the residents.
8. Conduct recruitment and onboarding of new employees, administer payroll changes, and ensure compliance to training requirements.
9. Conduct monthly contract monitoring and KPI information on the service.
10. Have oversight of the weekly medication checks by Senior Support Workers.
11. Coach the key worker of the supported individual and partner with the income team, job centre and clinical team.
12. Comply and remain up to date with all safeguarding policies and procedures.

1. Level 3 Diploma – Lead Adult Care Worker
2. A commitment to undertake continual personal development.
3. Knowledge of Safeguarding procedures
4. The understanding of types of mental health illnesses and the level of care some clients may require.
5. Knowledge in the development of a successful team.
6. Health & Safety knowledge
7. Experience managing or supervising a small team in a support environment.
8. Previous experience working within a mental health environment.
9. IT literate with experience using MS Office packages.
10. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and members of the public.
11. Be proactive and identify concerns before they become an incident.
12. Able to remain calm when under pressure.
13. Sensitive to the needs of vulnerable individuals.
