We are seeking to recruit a Team Manager to join the Children’s Disability Service to help us achieve our vision for all our children, young people and families in Nottinghamshire County Council. The Children's Disability Service, is a countywide frontline service, safeguarding some of our most vulnerable children, whilst also supporting children with appropriate packages of support. The work in the service covers a wide range of children's social work including care proceedings, children who have involvement under the Mental Health Act, as well as child protection and looked after work. As a registered social worker with Social Work England you will have a minimum of 2 years' post qualifying experience working with children and families in the statutory sector. You will have the capacity and/or the experience of managing people effectively and the ability to lead a team to achieve positive outcomes and ensuring the children that we work with are supported and safeguarded. You will also be able to demonstrate a breadth of knowledge and experience and ideally have experience of working within the strengths-based practice framework.
As the Team Manager, you will have to lead, manage, and motivate experienced staff and newly qualified workers to ensure that all children's outcomes are improved and that they are safeguarded effectively, demonstrating your expert practice in complex situations when making decisions and managing higher levels of risk. You will be motivated, committed, and passionate about making a difference to the lives of children, young people and families. You will be able to build effective working relationships, demonstrate strong analytical skills, supervise and appraise your team and ensure all team members have the relevant skills and knowledge to work effectively and efficiently and a robust understanding of the care proceedings process.
