Children’s Registered Manager (permanent)

Are you motivated, ambitious, caring and committed to working within a regulated, residential service for children in line with the Service Plan and Quality Care Standards and Children's Homes regulations 2015?
Job Purpose: The home is a mainstream provision for three children and young people between the ages of 10 – 18 years old on admission, who demonstrate complex and often highly challenging behaviours.
Your job as the Children’s Registered Manager:
1. Create an environment where young people’s individual spiritual, cultural, educational, health, leisure and life experiences are met in a non-institutional way.
2. Create and maintain a homely, welcoming atmosphere where young people feel safe, cared for, valued, and respected.
3. Offer the highest standards of physical and emotional care, consistent with the child's routine, working in partnership with children, their parent/carers, health, and other disciplines.
4. Empower children by offering choices whenever possible and by giving opportunities to experiment and encourage independence.
5. Treat each child with respect, taking into consideration race, gender, culture, religion, and sexual orientation.
Your previous experience as a Children's Registered Manager:
1. Educational Qualification: Ideally you will have Level 5 residential leadership and management qualification (or Level 3 with commitment to complete) – or other relevant social care qualifications.
2. Experience: 3 years’ experience of working with children and young people in a managerial capacity within a residential setting and a minimum of 2 years working with children.
3. Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of childcare legislation, guidance, and regulations, particularly the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
4. Attitude: Ability to understand and foster an inclusive and positive team culture and have a strong focus on team performance.
