Wood is recruiting for a Wayleave Officer to join Wood Transmission & Distribution Ltd entity focusing on negotiating and resolving wayleave, easement, and lease issues due to significant growth across our transmission and distribution business. The Wayleave Officer will assist in the creation of detailed drawings for accommodation works, land boundaries, access routes, and necessary permissions while coordinating with the Client’s Wayleave Officer and grantors to ensure positive relationships and address any program changes or inquiries. This role is site based primarily in the Scottish central belt region with long term project sites based in Argyll and Bute supporting our client SSE. This opportunity is a site-based position, we have works issued under various frameworks which mean the position is UK wide. You will need to be flexible in your work location as you will be away from home for periods of time and will travel and work across the UK. What we can offer Meaningful and interesting projects delivered to leaders of industry across emerging energy sectors Flexible working arrangements that balance client, team and individual needs offering hybrid and remote working where relevant Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion; we are an organisation actively committed to diversity and inclusion across our business with employee networks committed to giving all employees a voice Competitive salary with regular salary reviews to ensure we are rewarding at the right level in line with the market Flexible benefits package; inclusive of 33 days annual leave (including public holidays), generous contributory pension scheme, private medical cover, 4x base salary life insurance; all of these and more that can be adapted to suit your own lifestyle Commitment to continued professional development; development plans that are tailored to your individual needs and interests Global connections; join experts around the world who are at the leading edge of our industry, shaping the standards of our profession Responsibilities Typical responsibilities Drawing Production: produce and assist in the production of drawings detailing scope of works, access routes, utilities, and permissions Client and Authority Liaison: maintain relationships with the Client’s Lands Officer, Grantors, and other Authorities, fielding queries and attending meetings as required Progress and Programme Updates: ensure the Client’s Wayleave Officer is updated on progress and programme of works to avoid interruptions Site Visits and Access Development: visit sites with the Client’s Lands Officer to confirm land take areas and access, and produce an Access Development schedule Permissions and Agreements: arrange necessary waterway access agreements, planning permissions, and footpath closures/diversions with relevant authorities Drawing and Record Updates: update drawings and records based on agreed changes from the Client’s Lands Officer Safety and Compliance: challenge unsafe behaviour, report incidents, and ensure compliance with safety measures and policies Clearance and Inspections: ensure tree/shrub clearance requirements are met, inspect accesses, and verify hazard mitigation measures Environmental Mitigation: liaise with environmental advisors to capture mitigation on drawings for environmental impacts Project Drawing Control: manage project drawings associated with the Wayleave process Programme and Schedule Management: confirm programme and amend the Wayleave schedule as required Access Handover: ensure accesses are handed back promptly and cleared of all plant, debris, and material Minor Repairs Coordination: coordinate minor repairs to maintain access security Support Inspections and Reviews: support environmental advisor inspections and reviews of method statements and risk assessments Inductions and Meetings: provide information for inductions, attend weekly safety and progress meetings, and report on progress and issues Documentation Review: review documentation with the Client’s Lands Officer and sign off on notifications and hold points Policy Compliance: comply with Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies (OHSAS 18001, ISO9001:2000, ISO 14001) Qualifications What makes you remarkable?
