The Solihull Community Intermediate Care covers sites across Solihull as well as the patient's home. We provide therapy to those who are placed in discharge to assess beds / discharged home requiring further assessment and rehabilitation following a period of hospital admission as well as complex discharge planning.
The role of a therapy support worker is to support the delivery of therapy services to patients within the intermediate care service. This involves working in a multi-disciplinary team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Nurses, and other Therapy Support Workers. You will work autonomously under the supervision of the qualified therapists while also supporting junior staff, new starters, and students.

The trust and team are committed to providing a 7-day therapy service. The service covers 7-6 with shifts including 7-3, 8-4, and 10-6. This role includes participation in a weekend cover rota and bank holidays.
It is essential to meet the travel requirements of the post as this is a community-based role; a valid UK driving license and access to a car with business insurance is essential.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Sound basic education to GCSE or equivalent including English at grade C or above
* Able to demonstrate competence in maths and written and spoken English. Educated to A level/NVQ 3 or equivalent (e.g., NVQ 2 or similar vocational qualification plus a minimum of 2 years experience)
Experience
* Comprehensive experience supporting therapists in a relevant clinical setting
* Comprehensive experience of delivering rehabilitation programmes across a variety of clinical settings with evidence of MDT collaboration and hospital discharge planning
* Can demonstrate an in-depth understanding of relevant areas of therapy, the effect of illness/clinical conditions/disability on function and health, and basic aims of rehabilitation
* Comprehensive understanding of the role of therapy support worker in the relevant area
* Understanding of confidentiality and data protection in healthcare
