Our client, a well-established global leader in design and manufacturing, is seeking a skilled Paint Prepper to join their team in Maidstone.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with experience in preparing fabricated parts for wet painting to contribute to the production of industry-leading products.
Position Overview
As a Paint Prepper, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and durability of our client's products.
Your responsibilities include preparing fabricated parts for wet painting, such as drilling, fettling, filling, sanding, shot blasting, sealing, washing, cleaning, degreasing, and masking components.
Attention to detail and adherence to company processes are essential to achieve a high-quality surface finish and cleanliness level ready for painting.
Responsibilities
Use power tools for drilling, grinding, and sanding component surfaces in line with company processes.
Mask threads and bores to protect from shot blast damage and paint ingress.
Handle components through blast equipment to achieve a good surface finish and high cleanliness level.
Hang components efficiently for priming and painting.
Unload components and pack for delivery to production areas and stores, ensuring the paint finish is not damaged.
Monitor blast profiles daily.
Clean the prep area daily and carry out regular preventative maintenance tasks on the shot blast equipment.
Comply with the company's Health & Safety policies and ensure all work is carried out in line with relevant Risk Assessments.
Adhere to the company's environmental policies and legal duties, including control of emissions, management of solvents, and disposal and recycling of waste products.
