The Role: New Business Senior Underwriter - Property and Casualty
We are representing a well-established, award-winning Commercial Lines Insurer that is expanding its Birmingham team with a New Business Senior Underwriter specializing in Property and Casualty. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team known for service excellence and strong industry recognition.
As a Senior Underwriter, you'll play a critical role in managing the branch's profitability and income, impacting financial results for designated accounts and broker partners. Your expertise will also influence the Underwriting team's development, fostering collaboration with key stakeholders and enhancing the branch's technical and trading capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Represent the organization by presenting solutions for larger Mid-Market and Mid-Corporate risks, utilizing industry knowledge and technical underwriting expertise.
2. Collaborate with Trading Underwriters to develop customized coverage options that align with client needs.
3. Build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified Mid-Market and Mid-Corporate growth opportunities, strengthening relationships with brokers and clients.
4. Lead large case management for new business, with a focus on profitable growth.
5. Develop collaborative broker relationships to drive commercial business generation and retention.
6. Underwrite new business in alignment with company standards, serving as a referral point for other team Underwriters.
7. Maintain a strategic communication plan with influential brokers to ensure financial KPIs are met.
8. While this role does not have direct reports, you will be supporting and coaching other Underwriters to enhance team performance.
