Who We’re Looking For
We need a sharp, strategic, and commercially-minded solicitor who is comfortable handling financial claims, landlord-tenant disputes, property litigation, and debt recovery. You should be proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently to manage legal risks and secure favorable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Money Claims & Debt Recovery
o Initiate and pursue financial claims against debtors, including individuals and businesses.
o Draft and file legal proceedings for unpaid invoices, breach of contract, and property-related financial disputes.
o Enforce court judgments, including obtaining and executing CCJs (County Court Judgments) and enforcing payment orders.
o Negotiate settlements and repayment plans to recover outstanding funds efficiently.
2. Property & Landlord-Tenant Disputes
o Handle disputes related to unpaid rent, service charges, and lease breaches.
o Represent the company in eviction proceedings, possession claims, and legal actions against landlords or tenants.
o Draft and review tenancy agreements, leases, and contracts to protect the company’s interests.
o Advise on landlord-tenant laws and compliance with UK regulations.
3. Litigation & Dispute Resolution
o Manage ongoing litigation matters.
o Represent the company in court proceedings, mediation, and arbitration.
o Prepare legal arguments, witness statements, and court submissions.
o Work with external counsel when necessary and coordinate legal strategy.
4. Contract & Risk Management
o Review and negotiate property contracts, lease agreements, and commercial contracts.
o Identify potential legal risks and advise on strategies to prevent disputes before they escalate.
o Provide legal guidance on business transactions and financial agreements.
Requirements
Qualified solicitor in the UK with 5+ years of experience in litigation, property law, and financial claims.
Strong expertise in money claims, debt recovery, and enforcement of judgments.
Experience handling landlord-tenant disputes, lease enforcement, and possession claims.
Proven ability to negotiate settlements and recover funds through legal proceedings.
Excellent advocacy, negotiation, and legal drafting skills.
Ability to work independently, assess risks, and provide strategic legal advice.
Preferred Experience
* Previous in-house counsel experience in a property-focused or claims-driven business.
* Knowledge of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), mediation, and settlement negotiations.
* Familiarity with litigation funding, cost management, and enforcement strategies.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £36,000.00-£72,000.00 per year
