We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Electric Drive Systems / E-Drive Systems Owner who has a background in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering with a proven track record in automotive electric driveline systems.
The PACCAR Powertrain eDS team is looking for a dynamic, experienced Electric Drive Systems / E-Drive Systems Owner to join our team.
The e-Drive Systems Team leads and supports multiple electrification programmes, specifying and supplying e-drive solutions for PACCAR's global vehicles in collaboration with our vehicle platform teams. We specialize in e-motors and power electronics associated with electric drive systems and have team members worldwide.
Our team is growing, and we need skills and experience across our electrification projects for various brands.
As a successful candidate, you will work at the forefront of PACCAR vehicle electrification projects.

DUTIES
Your responsibilities as the Electric Drive Systems / E-Drive Systems Owner may include, depending on project needs:
* Working from our Leyland facility in the UK as the ‘over-arching systems owner’ for current and new electrified drives at the systems level.
* Working 37 hours per week at the base site.
* Supporting global stakeholders within the PACCAR Powertrain group.
* Leading and guiding other team members on all projects at the system level under supervision.
* Defining, developing, and validating electric powertrain drivelines within the commercial vehicle sector.
* Following industry standards, V-cycle validation methods, and continuous improvement practices like Six Sigma, Agile, 5 Why, Kaizen.
* Gathering and defining technical requirements, RFIs, RFQs, and selecting suppliers for electric driveline components.
* Creating documentation to support system integration, diagnostics, Functional Safety, and Cyber Security.
* Leading FRS/FDS discussions and reviews within IBM DNG and collaboration activities.
* Resolving issues, negotiating, and building strong relationships with internal teams and suppliers.
* Collaborating with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to bring products into mass production.
* Providing troubleshooting support for mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
* Staying updated with emerging technologies.
* Ensuring high quality and efficiency in all tasks.
* Conducting risk reviews, documenting, and presenting analyses.
* Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (~20%) for project support.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Ideal candidates will have:
* A degree (or higher) in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering.
* Technical expertise in Engineering or Computer Science.
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (IET/IMECHe).
* Proven experience in automotive electric driveline systems.
* Knowledge of electric machines and power electronics.
* Understanding of vehicle functional safety standards (ISO26262).
* Knowledge of Cyber Security.
* Experience at OEM level in the automotive industry.
* Strong cross-company communication skills.
* Familiarity with requirements management tools (IBM DNG/RTC, Polarion).
* Experience with calibration and diagnostic tools (Vector CANape/CANalyser preferred).
