POSITION TITLE: Shift Maintenance Technician

LOCATION: Wigan
Salary: £44,133 basic inclusive of shift pay
Overtime: Paid at 1.5 to 2.5 depending on day
Bank holiday premiums: x 2
Shift Pattern: 2 Days 2 Nights - 4 off, 5:30 to 5:30
OTE: £55k
FUNDAMENTAL PURPOSE:
To ensure the maintenance, servicing and repair of all equipment to maintain the continuity of the manufacturing operations and the safety of production personnel. Working a shift pattern.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Maintaining plant, equipment and utilities throughout the site.
2. Working as part of a team and working alone.
3. Utilising own initiative to solve & rectify problems.
4. Closing out routine PPM work as detailed in work orders.
5. Recording any completed work orders and returning them to their maintenance planner/scheduler in a timely manner.
6. Carrying out reactive and planned tasks.
7. Utilising CMMS (SAP).
8. Observing Health & Safety of themselves & colleagues at all times is a must.
9. Maintaining high standards of Housekeeping (5S) and ensuring a tidy and safe workplace after work completion.
10. Fast and efficient work completion.
11. To promote continuous improvement work.
12. Responding to breakdown issues from production, offering technical support.
13. Maintain current plant processes, i.e. keep up to date with technical advancements.
14. Provide guidance and support to shift supervision team.
15. Provide one to one cover for holidays and sickness.
16. To be the AP (Authorised Person) or safety person for emergencies, including High Voltage for electrical technicians.
REQUIRES:
1. Be Computer Literate, for example Microsoft office & SAP.
2. At least five years' experience in a maintenance environment.
3. Qualified to City & Guilds standard within a time served Electrical or Mechanical Apprenticeship.
4. Be able to carry out basic Electrical and Mechanical duties confidently and effectively.
5. Be able to follow engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings and working instructions.
6. An appreciation / working knowledge of PLC's for example Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.
7. The ability to communicate effectively and constructively to both peers and management.
8. Electric bias must have C&G or equivalent in HVAP or working towards it.
9. High Voltage qualification for all electrical bias Technicians.
10. Self-sufficient and ability to work under minimal direct supervision.
11. Analytical skills.
