Job Summary
As a First Contact Physiotherapist (FCP) within the NHS, you will be the first point of contact for patients with musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions in primary care settings, such as GP practices. You will provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and management, reducing the need for GP appointments and onward referrals.
Main duties of the job
1. Conduct expert MSK assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning.
2. Provide self-management advice, rehabilitation plans, and appropriate onward referrals if needed.
3. Work independently within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
4. Support patients with pain management, lifestyle modifications, and preventative strategies.
5. Maintain accurate records and contribute to service development and audits.
