Job Description
Responsibilities:
* Plan and lead the technical delivery of programmes of work, such as hydrodynamic simulations/experiments of ships and submarines in support of design and operation.
* Breakdown complex tasks and execute the planned schedule of work. Work with project managers to track progress, assign tasks, and supervise the technical delivery team.
* Participate in business development activities through engagement with customers and provision of technical delivery plans and resource requirements to the bidding team.
* Act as a peer or independent reviewer for other projects or programmes of work, where suitable.
* Deliver technical presentations in external forums, such as conferences and customer meetings. Work with other parties to expand and improve the work that the client delivers.
* Mentor other team members to improve their knowledge of your areas of expertise.
Required Skills:
* Excellent understanding of engineering, equivalent to someone who has completed a BEng/MEng in Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering.
* Excellent understanding of marine hydrodynamics and sound engineering judgement.
* Significant previous experience of delivering projects as a technical lead.
* Knowledge of data analysis, including experience of programming (e.g. Matlab) is desirable.
* Knowledge of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA) is desirable.
