We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Scientist in Biochemistry for a 1 year fixed term post or for an internal candidate a secondment opportunity, to cover maternity leave. You will join our enthusiastic team in the Blood Sciences department of Derbyshire Pathology.
Derbyshire Pathology is a partnership between the Pathology departments of Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts and University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust, providing a wide range of biochemical services for both Trusts and Derbyshire and Staffordshire GP's, serving a population of over 1 million. We have a fully integrated blood sciences service which includes automated laboratories, specialist biochemistry with tandem mass facilities and haematology, immunology and POCT sections.
Main duties of the job
As the successful candidate, you will be HCPC state registered as a clinical scientist and have part 1 of Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists. The post offers excellent career development opportunities, and you will be a key member of the blood sciences team. There will be opportunities to develop expertise in and to contribute to the department's audit, development, IT, research and teaching programmes.
