We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team supporting the delivery of projects on a complex pharmaceutical manufacturing facility near Montrose. This role presents an exciting opportunity to apply your engineering expertise on technically challenging projects while advancing your career within a leading engineering consultancy.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop electrical engineering design solutions in line with project and client requirements
* Apply engineering principles to ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications
* Produce and review calculations, technical specifications, equipment schedules, and design documentation
* Provide technical support to designers and oversee the preparation of electrical drawings
* Undertake and verify electrical load assessments, cable sizing, and power distribution designs
* Lead or support design reviews and ensure technical quality across project deliverables
* Engage with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical design with other engineering disciplines
* Interface with clients, vendors, and contractors as required to progress project delivery
* Assist in commissioning planning, documentation, and support as needed
* Ensure all work is delivered to high safety, quality, and regulatory standards
* Prioritise tasks effectively to meet project deadlines under the direction of project management
Required Qualifications
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
* Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical engineering design, preferably within industrial or pharmaceutical sectors
* Strong working knowledge of BS7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations)
* Familiarity with design software such as AmTech (Trimble), AutoCAD, and other industry-standard tools
* Experience in power distribution, motor control systems, and control panel specification/design
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
