An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse position within Barnsley Hospitals forward-thinking busy 28-bedded Surgical Ward.
Ward 35 is a mixed surgical ward which specialises in emergency and elective general surgery, colorectal, urology and ENT.

Shifts will include days, nights and weekends. Flexible working patterns will be considered where possible.

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Leading and supporting a team of nursing staff in providing patient centred care.
2. Coordinating day-to-day activities within the ward, ensuring smooth operations.
3. Supporting pre- and post-operative care for a range of surgical patients.
4. Acting as a clinical role model, mentoring junior staff and students.
5. Implementing clinical guidelines and maintaining patient safety.
