In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will orchestrate the design and execution of significant civil engineering projects, ensuring their seamless delivery. An accomplished candidate will manage Stirling Council’s roads design, flooding, and structures teams. Their remit extends to overseeing the intricate planning and execution of active travel initiatives, flood risk management endeavours, significant bridge enhancements, and other road-related projects.To effectively carry out the responsibilities of this role, a comprehensive background in roads-related design, familiarity with roads legislation, and adept project management skills are essential. The successful candidate will be a self motivated and dynamic leader who will be adept at driving project delivery within timescales and to professionally high standards. We’re seeking a proactive and dynamic leader who is inherently self-motivated and excels in steering project delivery within specified time frames whilst upholding the highest professional standards. Qualification: Degree in civil engineering or appropriate equivalent Chartered or Incorporated membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. ICE, CIHT, IHE) Project Management qualification Essential: Detailed and demonstrable knowledge of relevant Roads legislation Experience in carrying out public consultation Broad appreciation of roads-related infrastructure, with a particular knowledge of road design, construction, traffic management and road safety (including design, implementation and supervision of works) Full UK Driving Licence Desirable: Management qualification, e.g. MBA or DMS RoSPA road safety and audit certificate Technical qualification to degree or equivalent level Experience of working in / with local authorities Full essential and desirable criteria are specified in the attached job description If you’ve got the right skills for the job we want to hear from you.
