We are seeking a new hands-on Assistant Manager. This will be a varied role, supporting the team, managing the residence, and building on our relationships with various stakeholders.
The Role:
As the Assistant Manager, you will support the General Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our student accommodation, LIV Student Sheffield. This role focuses on assisting with student relations, coordinating facilities services and maintenance, managing the reception, and supporting leasing processes, all while helping to promote a positive living environment for our students. You will also deputize for the General Manager in their absence, ensuring the smooth running of the residence.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Support:
* Assist the General Manager in leading and managing the resident team.
* Help ensure the smooth operation of the residence, including health and safety, security, and general maintenance.
* Manage the residence reception, ensuring it runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis and providing excellent service to students.
* Support the implementation of company policies and procedures.
* Assist with cost control and budget management, including residence P&L and rent arrears.
Student Relations:
* Serve as a point of contact for students, addressing concerns or inquiries in a prompt and professional manner.
* Assist in organizing and facilitating community-building events to foster a sense of belonging among students.
* Help enforce community policies to maintain a safe and respectful living environment.
Leasing and Business Development:
* Lead in maximizing occupancy, maintaining student records, and controlling the enquiry pipeline.
* Support the summer rental business, helping to build revenue opportunities with educators and stakeholders.
* Contribute to identifying and supporting new business and revenue-generating opportunities.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in property management or a client-facing service industry, preferably in the PBSA, Education, Hotel, or BTR sector.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, team members, and external partners.
* Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software is desirable.
* Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and some weekends, as needed.
