Our client is a housing association with properties across the UK. Currently, they are seeking an experienced Retrofit Works Projects Manager to join their London team.
This is a temporary position for 10 months, paying £400 per day via an umbrella company on a full-time basis (35 hours per week) and requires a basic DBS. You would be based on site or in the office 2/3 days minimum.
Must be a qualified retrofit professional with CIOB, RICS, and industry experience in delivering building SHDF projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Support management with the design, tender and mobilisation of planned works programmes, ensuring adherence to contractual terms.
2. Ensure retrofit and planned works programmes are delivered in line with programme and budget. Identify and manage barriers to effective service delivery and cost management.
3. Ensure that retrofit programmes are delivered in line with PAS 2035 and that all contractors and consultants working on programme delivery have the relevant accreditation.
4. Take the lead in reporting performance and monitoring to funders i.e. DESNZ.
5. Day-to-day lead for contract requirement matters, developing and agreeing with contractors on their individual service development plans, ensuring compliance with the specification and contract.
6. Oversee the improvement plan for each contractor by attending formal monthly contract management meetings, monitoring progress of the monthly plan, intervening and escalating as needed, and producing updates.
7. Direct work rebalancing between primary and secondary contractors to ensure consistent demand levels.
8. Provide performance reports on contractors against specifications and KPIs, intervening where performance dips, initiating improvements, and recording actions and expected results. Escalate if not achieved.
9. Communicate performance and improvement in the service across the organisation and for external audiences by verifying the weekly performance report from each contractor.
10. Identify good practices and discuss knowledge sharing opportunities with contractors, initiating joint discussions on service improvement and training between organisational staff and contractors.
11. Ensure compliance with Internal Audit recommendations and immediately report exceptions and take remedial action.
