About Our Client:
Our client is a worldwide leading manufacturer with product design, development, and manufacturing carried out at their site in East Sussex. They have subsidiary companies in Europe, North America (including a manufacturing facility), and Australasia, as well as partnering agents throughout the world. Global sales exceed £70m with approximately 350 employees worldwide.
Role Overview:
This position will involve travel throughout the UK (and occasional overseas visits) to promote, sell, and support their products to both potential and existing customers. Our client has enjoyed significant growth in recent years, especially in the UK market, which has grown from around £5m to over £15m in annual sales. They are looking for an experienced Senior Sales Manager to join them at an exciting time of positive change, joining a team of around 10 admin, sales, and after-sales support staff focused primarily on the UK market.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Take a senior role in all sales activities in the UK.
2. Network and build strong relationships with all customers by understanding their needs and providing solutions.
3. High-level contract negotiation (£ million+) and customer account management.
4. Act as a key point of contact for escalated client issues and ensure prompt and satisfactory resolution.
5. Increase sales in the UK by identifying new business opportunities and promoting new products as/when they become available.
6. Provide sales reports and forecasts to our Directors.
7. Keep informed of trends and regulations in relation to products.
8. Arrange sales visits and product demonstrations; answer general sales inquiries; administer quotations, specifications & tender responses; attend industry exhibitions.
9. Support the Sales Director to develop sales strategy and continually achieve and exceed sales targets outlined by the Sales Director.
Essential Requirements:
1. Extensive sales and customer management experience at senior level.
2. High commercial acumen with good business analytical skills.
3. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact well with internal and external stakeholders.
4. Experience of working in a target-driven environment, continually striving to achieve the goals outlined by the business.
5. IT literate, familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
6. Well organized and able to self-manage and prioritize workloads.
7. Self-motivated with initiative and a drive to succeed.
