LEAD TEACHER IN ALTERNATIVE PROVISION APRIL START MPS/UPS 1 SEN POINT MERTON INTERVIEWING NOW An inspiring SEN school for pupils with Social, Emotional Mental Health Needs require a Lead Teacher for the Alternative provision to join them full time and long term from April. The role will be made permanent for the right applicant after a successful term or two of teaching. The post requires the Lead Teacher to plan and deliver suitable education provision for the pupils in the provision. The Lead teacher will have a lead role in coordinating the education provision for the pupils, teaching a broad and balanced curriculum as well as establishing and maintaining partnerships with parent/carers and local services All pupils have an EHCP and have experienced significant barriers to learning in mainstream education therefore, you will be a resilient teacher with a strong commitment to raising standards promoting a positive school culture. You will have the opportunity to work within a dedicated and successful team positively impacting on the lives of some of the most vulnerable young people within the area through the school’s trauma-informed approach. The Head of School is seeking a teacher who has: An excellent teaching record in one or more core subject/s Previous management experience within a small department Experience of the use of restorative practices and effective behaviour management skills as well as good rapport with challenging pupils.
