Role
The Yard is an award-winning charity that runs adventure play services for children with disabilities and/oradditional support needs and their families.
As a Facilities Assistant, you will work with the Office & Facilities Team delivering a wide range of functions,including cleaning, repairs and maintenance services.
You will be a key part of the team, carrying out minor building maintenance and repairs, assisting with cleaning,facilities, premises and office management and providing support to the Operations Team.

Your daily routine will be as varied as the needs of the people you are supporting. You will be ensuring the safetyof the children within The Yard, engaging children and young people in creative play, liaising with theirparents and carers, schools and other organisations to ensure service satisfaction remains high and supervisingthe play and volunteering staff effectively.

About Aberlour Glasgow Intensive Family Support Service (IFSS)(City Wide)…
Aberlour will be working in partnership with the Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership and other ThirdSector providers to promote the wellbeing of children and young people by offering caring and responsivesupport, something which is now needed more than ever as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. Aberlour GlasgowIntensive Family Support will deliver the support families need, when they need it. The aim of the service is toensure that children and young people can continue to flourish at home, at school and in their localcommunity.
What we are looking for....
We are looking to recruit a Family Support Worker, working 37.5 hours per week on a fixed term basis until 14thSeptember 2025. You will work directly with families to nurture relationships, build on existing strengths andinterests, help children and families build skills and confidence and strengthen community connections. You willbe part of a multi-disciplinary team that works for a period of up to 12 months with families to support andenable positive change and improve outcomes. Our ambition is to help children, young people and families feelsafe, confident, capable, and included, offering support when it is needed, including evenings and weekends. Webelieve in working alongside families, empowering them to lead positive change in their own lives.
We are looking for candidates who are experienced in working alongside vulnerable families to assess strengths andneeds as well as plan, deliver and evaluate interventions and strategies which enable families to thrive. Youwill have experience of child and adult protection issues. Experience of working within other childcare settingssuch as Residential Child Care will be considered.
You must share our vision that collaborative working and relationship based early intervention is the best option forchildren and families who are feeling overwhelmed or excluded. Ideally you will hold a relevant professionalqualification at SCQF level 7 or above, together with relevant experience of working directly with children oryoung people and their families. Not afraid to test new ways of working, you will bring a fresh, caring, andcollaborative approach which recognises strengths and responds empathically to the needs of children, youngpeople, and their families – this will include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
To succeed in this role, you will need to work flexibly within a variety of locations across Glasgow City, includingfamily homes, schools, and community settings.
