Working closely with the divisional governance safety and quality lead, the post holder will facilitate evidence based effective clinical care pathways, providing clinical and professional leadership to the clinical teams in relation to achieving a safe and effective service

You will provide clinical and professional leadership to the clinical teams in relation to work associated with achieving compliance and assurance against national drivers and local safety initiatives.
Focusing on developing the safety culture, risk management and having oversight of clinical governance is pivotal to the quality and safety of our service, supporting good clinical outcomes and positive service user and staff experience. In conjunction with the Divisional Midwifery and Nursing Director (DMND) and deputy DMND the matron for safety and Quality will:
• Work in close collaboration with the Divisional governance lead and multidisciplinary team to deliver a safe and effective governance framework.
• Work to implement national and local identified maternity safety standards
• Take responsibility for co-ordination and completion of national and local quality and safety audits across the service and system at regional and national levels in liaison with the governance team as required. (PMRT MBBRACE, NMSI)
• Ensure the provision of excellent care with compassion the post holder is responsible for working with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure appropriate measures are developed and implemented, prioritising and planning workload to ensure timescales are met and milestones delivered and a clear project management infrastructure for patient safety projects in line with recognised methodology.
