About this position:
We are currently looking for an experienced Non-Conformance Engineer on a contract basis with a global engineering solutions company who have a proven track record serving the product lifecycle needs of high technology companies.
Job Responsibilities:
Assessment of component non-conformance reported by manufacturing supply chain. Interpret component measurement machine reports, component and tooling drawings and supporting technical data.
1. Validate findings in terms of fit, form & function. Do tolerance stack-up calculations and assess effect of non-conformance on mating components, in adherence with applicable tools and processes.
2. Formulate reports and recommendations to Non-conformance Authority. Engage in two-way feedback.
3. Conduct minor design alteration assessments, approval process gate presentation and feedback with design authority. Drawing alteration using CAM software.
The role will be hybrid with a requirement to work a minimum of 3 days a week from Customer Site (Preferably: Huddersfield, UK).
Experience Required:
1. HND, HNC or Bachelor Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Production/Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent, with experience of design engineering in practice.
2. Knowledge of Military standards and their operation is essential.
3. Experience of CAM (Solid Edge) modelling.
4. Experience of being involved in design solutions and modelling/drafting of Rotating / Gear Box components.
5. Good understanding in interpretation & application of GD & T principles.
6. Working knowledge of limits, fits and tolerances of parts will be an added advantage.
7. Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Essential skills/qualifications:
1. Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maths or Physics.
2. Skill sets in systems engineering and configuration engineering.
3. Ability to use your own initiative and act independently as required - requirements and tasks are often fluid in nature and it is essential that you are comfortable and able to thrive in this type of environment.
4. Pro-active with the ability to think creatively.
5. Security Clearance Required.

1. Experience in Task Leading duties, including QMS documentation.
2. Mentoring.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Confidence in presenting information to a wide variety of stakeholders.
5. General Military aircraft domain knowledge and interest.
