Open Country is a Harrogate-based charity that seeks to enable anyone with any disability to access the countryside.
Open Country has 35 years of experience in successfully organising and leading countryside activities and has enabled hundreds of people with a disability to access and enjoy the countryside.
Last year 135 volunteers in Harrogate and Wakefield donated 12,338 hours of their time.
Role Description
Open Country is now moving to Teesside and is looking to find dedicated helpers in the area!
Various volunteering opportunities are available throughout Teesside.

Training is given and they endeavour to make your experience rewarding, exciting and fun!
Purpose of the Role
Volunteer roles include guiding a visually impaired person, assisting a wheelchair user, piloting a tandem, or supporting members with practical tasks on their conservation and access groups.

2. Open Country volunteers have said that they have made new friends, improved their fitness, and felt a sense of achievement from helping others.
