An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Market Analyst to join the Market Analysis team in Civil Aerospace, based in Derby.
As a Market Analyst, you will look externally at the Civil aviation market along with the world economies and events and to provide information and insights to inform business decisions. You will be responsible for producing forecasts, trend monitoring, reports and insights based on market analysis, airline and aerospace strategies and airline fleets. You will also provide analysis and knowledge for multiple stakeholders across the Civil business, so ideally you will have strong cross functional team working capability, be comfortable working with ambiguity, have excellent time management, influencing and communication skills along with being a proficient problem solver.
Naturally, you will be a comfortable handling large sets of data and be able to visualise these in the most appropriate way.

What you will be doing:
In this interesting role you will:
* Use data driven insights to develop market forecasts (such as predicting Engine Flying Hours and fleet development) and help influence how the organisation approaches business challenges and decision making;
* Gather and evaluate a wide variety of market information through internal and external sources to discern market trends and glean insights;
* Provide analysis and insight on market information. Translating data, observations and results into business language and effectively communicating to the business and customers making use of available technologies such as those available in PowerBi dashboards;
* In conjunction with IT specialists, develop and evaluate innovative models for predictive learning, visual analytics, data insight and statistical inference;
* Integrate market forecast data and airframer production schedule information to support SORB volume inputs.

* Analytical strength and experience, probably requiring degree level education in a strong quantitative discipline such as Maths, Statistics, Engineering or Computer Science preferred;
* Aviation industry awareness & knowledge;
* Experience of analysing trends for use in planning and forecasting;
* Knowledge of visualisation platforms such as Power BI;
* Knowledge of data handling and strong Excel skills required with knowledge of programming languages such as Python and SQL beneficial.
