Are you an experienced Community Mental Health Nurse who would like the opportunity to be part of an innovative integrated Community Mental Health Service? Are you looking for an opportunity to be part of a service model that works in partnership with local services to meet the needs of those presenting with complex mental health needs together?
Telford and Wrekin Community Mental Health service provides assessment and evidence-based interventions for people who present with complex mental health difficulties that are significantly impacting their daily life alongside our partner organisations.
We are looking for a Senior Nurse Practitioner to join our team to work alongside our primary care practitioners and wider partners to support the delivery of our service.
We have two posts: 1 full time (37.5 hours per week) and 1 part time (26 hours per week) - please indicate in your application which post you are interested in.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicants will need to encourage effective engagement of those presenting with complex mental health needs, utilising excellent communication skills, whilst maintaining compassion and hope through every contact. We incorporate a trauma-informed psychological approach which aims to increase people’s independence, working towards an improved quality of life.
There is an emphasis on team-based multi-disciplinary decision making which lends itself to creating a supportive environment for staff. We also value a culture of active service and personal development for all staff.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner who wants to work and be part of our wider multi-disciplinary team that includes Community Mental Health Nurses, Advance Pharmacist, Non-Medical Prescribers, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Psychologists, Consultant Psychiatrist, Occupational Therapists, Peer Support (lived experience) Workers, Health Care Support Workers, Employment, Housing and Financial Advisors.
This post will be providing short and longer-term interventions to those who require our service and are taken onto our community caseload working alongside our wider multi-disciplinary team in order to support people in their recovery.
As part of our local mental health alliance network, you will have the opportunity to attend our weekly meetings which provide an opportunity to look at how best as services we can work together to support individuals who are presenting with multiple needs, risks and complexity, particularly where engagement may be difficult.
You will be asked within this role to support and contribute to the clinical supervision of junior members of the team and students on placement with the service.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Registered mental health nurse on NMC Register.
* Post registration experience, evidence of formal courses and training at diploma/degree level.
* Registered mentor.
* BSc degree in nursing or equivalent level.
* Qualification/training in providing supervision or coaching.
* Non-medical prescriber.
* Psychological interventions training/qualification - including EMDR, CBT, CBT(p), Family Interventions, CAT, DBT, Structural clinical management.
* Phlebotomy training.
Experience
* Evidence of extensive post registration experience working with adults experiencing mental health related difficulties.
* Experience of working with people who have difficulty in engaging with services and have complex mental health needs.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
