The company is looking for a dynamic and adaptable Management Accountant who can effectively work with small, owner-managed businesses - some of which have been family-run for generations - to implement change successfully. Key responsibilities will include financial planning, cost control, performance analysis, and post-acquisition integration to support strategic decision-making. Key Duties: Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements). Monitor KPIs (e.g., revenue per service, cost per service, gross margin). Conduct variance analysis to compare actual vs. budgeted performance. Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts. Provide financial insights to help senior management make strategic decisions. Conduct scenario planning for pricing, expansion, or cost-saving initiatives. Cost Control & Efficiency: Monitor operating costs, ensuring expenses remain within budget. Identify cost-saving opportunities (e.g., supplier contracts, overhead reductions). Oversee pricing models to ensure profitability per service. Cash Flow Management: Track working capital and optimize cash flow. Manage debtors and creditors, ensuring timely collections and payments. Work closely with banks or lenders if financing is required. Business Partnering & Decision Support: Work with operational teams to improve efficiency (e.g., scheduling, staffing). Support strategic decisions, such as acquisitions or new service offerings. Provide financial insights to non-finance managers. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure financial regulations and tax obligations (VAT, payroll taxes) are met. Prepare for audits and liaise with external auditors. Implement and maintain strong financial controls. Qualifications & Requirements: Proven experience in Management Accounting You must have used Xero as an accounting platform for Finacial Reporting Qualified Accountant (ACA,CIMA or ACCA) Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders. Proficiency in financial reporting tools and Microsoft Excel, with exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail. Previous business partnering experience Ability to drive efficiency and embrace change in a fast-paced, small-organization environment.
