An opportunity has arisen within NHS Highland Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) based at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, for a Band 4 Rehabilitation Officer (previously Clinical Support Worker) to join our friendly and expanding team. We are seeking a suitably experienced professional who is enthusiastic, motivated and committed to working with young people and their families.
You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and will be experienced working with young people with complex needs.
You will be able to demonstrate that you can work within a multi-disciplinary team.
The post holder will be situated within the wider CAMHS nursing team which is an integral part of CAMHS. We have experienced success with a focused recruitment drive over the last 2 years which has allowed us to substantially expand our outreach provision in the department. We have also invested heavily in the support structure for our colleagues. We consider ourselves to be a compassionate, caring and innovative team which supports professionals to work to their potential.
The work will involve; direct supportive contact with children and young people with severe and complex mental health problems and their family and carers within The Phoenix Centre, the community and Raigmore Hospital. As a non-case holder, the post holder will support the service to implement agreed interventions in line with best practice, and with a focus on building and maintaining sound therapeutic relationships with young people/families to support engagement and positive outcomes.
The post holder will work closely with the CAMHS MDT to deliver a specialist, comprehensive and therapeutic service, using their own initiative with support from colleagues.
The post holder needs the ability to work flexibly which might include working outside normal working hours according to the changing needs of the service however currently CAMHS provide a Monday to Friday 9-5 service. A driving licence is essential.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
