My client is an award winning locally owned transport business specialising with Heavy Haulage and Abnormal Cargo and Machinery Transport. The carry customer cargo throughout the UK, Ireland, Europe and Internationally using their modern fleet of 10 trucks and 30 trailers. Due to continued business growth and planned expansion they seek to recruit a full-time permanent Operations Manager to oversee the day to day running of the business. This diverse and rewarding role has the following responsibilities: - Transport Operations to include planning routes as per customer orders. Briefing and debriefing drivers on deliveries / collections. Lead and develop transport planning team. Managing drivers, yard operatives, mechanics and other staff. Helping to handle email enquiries, liaise with customers, suppliers and customs. Dealing with customer orders, tracking and customs updates. Reduce fuel and overheads, maximise drivers hours through problem solving. Adhering to Health and Safety Practices & Drivers Hours Regulations. Organising sub-contractors, booking ferries and recording shipments. Ensuing PODs, CMRS and all paperwork within Transport Office is correct. Candidates should have 2-3 years managerial experience in a transport environment with proven business management skills with ability to lead by example and get the best out of others. You will have a good geographical knowledge of Ireland, UK & Europe. Youll be a natural communicator with strong organisational, time-management and prioritising skills. You will be competent with MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Have an eye for detail and enjoy working under pressure to hit deadlines. Be willing to adapt to changing situations and quick to make decisions. Positive can-do attitude is a must. Desirable to be a CPC International Holder and have knowledge of Customs.
