Mental Health Practitioner - Band 5, High Volume Users Team:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mental Health Practitioner within the High Volume Users Team based at the Harplands Hospital. This vacancy would suit someone who is looking for an exciting opportunity and wants to work as part of a successful Team.
£29,970 - £36,483 per annum full time 37.5 hours per week.
Our High Volume Users Team is part of the Crisis Care Centre, at Harplands Hospital, Stoke-on-Trent. This modern purpose-designed unit will be the central point for all those in need of a Crisis Assessment/Intervention, including teams such as the Mental Health Access Team and Home Treatment Team.

Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the delivery of care and for the supervision of non-registered staff who are carrying out all aspects of the caring process. The post-holder will assist in setting and maintaining standards of care while maintaining effective integration with the multi-disciplinary team and facilitate a collaborative approach to patient-focused care.
Job responsibilities
1. Registered Nurses will administer and manage medicines according to policy and local protocol. To assess patient response and provide advice and education to junior staff and both patient and carers in respect of prescribed medicines.
2. Provide support and guidance to junior or less experienced staff in the planning and delivery of care.
3. Maintain the therapeutic milieu, taking a proactive approach, supervising and supporting others in the same. Plan clinical activity in accordance with the needs of the service.
4. Take prompt action on changes in condition, liaising with other members of the clinical (Multi-disciplinary) team when necessary, reviewing nursing care and communicating any amendments to the care delivery.
5. Develop skills in respect of specific interventions that are appropriate to the clinical area, acting as a lead in developing nursing practice in relation to this.
