Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Levenshulme
Teaching Personnel is seeking a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Levenshulme. This is a full-time position starting immediately, running until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance.
Role Overview
This role is ideal for a recent maths graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a school environment, particularly those considering a career in teaching, tutoring, or educational support. The successful candidate will work closely with students and teachers to enhance learning and provide targeted support in mathematics.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing one-to-one and small group support to students who need additional assistance with maths.
* Assisting teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons, ensuring all students can access the curriculum.
* Helping to develop learning resources and materials to support students with different abilities.
* Supporting students in exam preparation, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning.
* Working closely with the maths department and SENCO to provide intervention sessions for students who require extra guidance.
* Encouraging students to develop confidence and enthusiasm in mathematics.
* Assisting with classroom behaviour management and promoting a positive learning environment.
* Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers to help tailor support strategies.
Candidate Requirements:
* A degree in Mathematics or a related subject (2:2 or above preferred).
* A passion for maths education and helping students succeed.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting student learning.
* The ability to work both independently and collaboratively with teachers and students.
* Previous experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, classroom support) is desirable but not essential.

* Weekly pay between £419.25 - £500, depending on experience and responsibilities.
